Recently, it has been shown that “photocharging” BiVO 4 results in an improved water oxidation performance. However, the understanding of how BiVO 4 is being improved has been lacking. WebHere we show the fabrication of bismuth vanadate (BiVO 4) thin films using a simple and scalable method called SILAR (Successive Ionic Layer Adsorption and Reaction), which is based on a series of immersion cycles in different precursor solutions.
